This recipe originally came from my Grandma's sweet best friend Doloras Staggs! I've loved this yummy recipe for as long as I can remember! My mom would always make these around the holidays and they were always fantastic!
Double Chocoalte Drop Cookies:
2 cups Flour
1/2 tsp salt (I never add this)
1/2 tsp baking soda
1 cup moist brown sugar
1/4 cup cocoa
3/4 cup milk
1/2 cup shortening (half soft butter)
1 tsp vanilla
Cream shortening and sugar, beat in vanilla and egg until fluffy. Add in flour, cocoa and soda alternating with milk. Once mixed, drop from spoon in to mounds on greased cookie sheet. Bake about 10 minutes at 400 degrees. Do not over bake, when barely cool swirl chocolate icing on top.
(chocolate frosting recipe to come)
